New Security
Hong Kong government has passed its security law and it is expected to be effective on 23 March. We do not know what is exactly in the new law but listening to the various sound bites of what is said, and not said, we are greatly worried about it.
Governments are instituted by God for the sake of passing justice to all and the promotion of God and His Church to the people of the region. However, when governments pass laws that do not promote justice for their people or only benefit certain groups of people then those governments are no longer blessed by God.
We do not know the mind of God but considering what the Hong Kong government has done in the past (along with the Chinese government) we can only assume that these governments are not blessed by God. Instead, these governments are designed to keep certain groups in power and oppress the rest. We hope not but nothing, so far, has led us to believe otherwise.
While we are obligated to render to the government things that are of government we must disobey those rules if they overrule the laws of God. St. Peter once something like “We must obey God before man.”
But by doing so we run the risk of harassment or prison by the government who don’t understand what they are doing. We fear that the government will go after religion, one day because religion is one of the many enemies of Communism. We also fear that people will be martyrs to the faith and that places of worship will be closed down.
The only thing we have in our favor is faith in God and His Church. Whenever the enemies of the Church have tried to destroy the Church the Church will wait and grow stronger.
The enemies of the Church will die and be judged for their ignorant actions about attacking the Church.
Our Lady of China, pray for us who have recourse to thee.
