Hong Kong prayer?
On Saturday, 19 October Hong Kong held a prayer vigil. In itself, it may seem nice but on closer inspection, it was another protest plan that will be doomed to fail.
Let us explain. Prayer to God is a good thing especially if they would ask God to help them in their cause or for them to see themselves for who they truly are. Instead, they prayed that some international country will come to their aid. No country will come to their aid since Hong Kong isn’t a place of value in the world.
There is also the above poster. It is perhaps the sole reason why the protest will fail. While it may be good not to forget it will never be good not to forgive. The “Our Father” explains this very clear. We petition God to forgive us in the same measure as we forgive others. If we forgive, then we hope God will forgive us. If we don’t forgive, then there is no reason why God will help us.
We fear that this lesson the protesters will have to learn the hard way. By then it may be too late. Instead of praying for help from some country they could have prayed the Rosary for help from Heaven. Pity they didn’t.
