Some protesters are putting on social media that they have the moral high ground because the Hong Kong government pushed them to do violence.

We believe that neither side has a moral high ground since they both resort to using violence and blaming the other side for them doing so. How dare the protesters claim “moral anything” when they smash building and attack all those who don’t agree with them.

The government pushed them to do violence??? No one forced the protesters to do violence (or any other action). It was the protesters who did the violence and then blamed the government for their actions.

The protesters could have continued with peaceful means but instead decided to do violence in hopes that the government will submit to their wants. It was they who did the violence and it was they who decided for themselves what action to take.

They have no moral high ground either at the start of their violent actions or even now.
