Elections #2

November 25, 2019 by No Comments

It is the morning after the elections and all is generally calm. Yesterday people often stood in long lines waiting for a chance to vote. Then they left and waited to hear if their candidate won or not.

It has been said that God gives the people the elected officials that best represent the morals and values of the people. It would appear the people are angry and want to strike out at the government. For it seems that the protest party candidates have won a majority of district seats. We send congratulations to them.

There are two questions that we want to be answered. First, what will be the reaction of the HK and China governments to this vast swing of public sentiment?

The second question is can those who have been elected, especially if this is their first elective office, do what they need to do for their districts? Will they be effective and making a positive change for their districts or will they just sit around and re-chant protest slogans?

For both questions only time will tell and we hope and pray it is for the betterment of all in Hong Kong.
