Good Friday
The story of Good Friday is well known and there are many lessons to be learned from it. But there is only one we wish to focus on this day. That is the act of forgiving.
Christ, upon the cross, forgave His enemies even when He was upon the cross. He could have ignored them and know that they may end up in Hell one day. But He forgave them even with everything they have done to Him and everything that they would do to Him.
He also forgave the good thief because of his act of faith. Christ could have also ignored him but He rewarded the thief because of this one act of faith.
If Christ could forgive people from the cross we also must forgive people no matter what they do to us. We never said it would be easy and perhaps many people will continue to attack us even after we forgive them or ask them for forgiveness on anything that we might have done to offend them.
Christ forgave people from the cross. We must forgive people who also wronged us. Our reward will not be in this world but, like the good thief, in the world to come.
