Mother’s Day #2
What should have been a day for love of your mother turned out to be a terror for all. Mother’s Day is supposed to be a day where you take your mother out for dinner or someplace nice and you enjoy it with her and the rest of the family. But not in Hong Kong.
An unplanned (or at least, unexpected) series of protests were formed on this day. What should have been something simple like people singing at various malls while families could either join in or ignore the singing didn’t happen.
The police got word of the various protests and stormed into the various malls and arrested over 200 people because of social distancing rules. The also fired pepper spray at protesters, reporters, and families who were just trying to enjoy a day together.
The police continued, from last year, the way of violently handling arrests and mocking those that they did arrest. It’s a shame that they are doing this. Now, the police have the full backing of China and they believe they can do anything they want. God is waiting for them -one way or another.
Mother’s Day was supposed to be a day of happy memories. But thanks to the police it was filled with terror.
No one believes that praying the Rosary is a simple answer to a complex problem. No one believes and no one cares as Hong Kong becomes more like China every day.
