Chinese New Year
This day starts the year of the white, metal rat. We suppose it seems appropriate considering the current health crisis in China.
In the late 1800s the plague visited Hong Kong on a regular basis until it was finally determined on what was the cause of it. Then it was dealt with and hasn’t returned since then.
Now, SARS has come and gone and the current virus is affecting all of China (and most of the world). Science has yet to determine what is the cause of it and governments are trying to decide what to do about it.
Some countries, like China, have quarantined cities while other places, like Hong Kong, have done nothing except take a watch and wait look.
It would appear that Hong Kong doesn’t care if anyone dies. All the government has said is that they don’t want to inconvenience travelers. It is a pity they take this approach.
One day they will die and have to appear before God. Then it will be too late for them.
Happy Lunar New Year.
