4 April is the Chinese festival of Ching Ming. It is where Chinese go to cemeteries, clean the gravesites of ancestors, say some prayers and leave some items.

Praying for the dead is a worthwhile pursuit it is mostly in vain when you are in the wrong religion. The prayers of the living may not help those who have died outside the faith.

This is why the Church says we need to convert the world. For any soul that is lost is a tragedy.
