Death

With the increasing cases of Covid-19 many hospitals are being overwhelmed by the amount of cases. This often has lead to a shortage: A shortage of beds, medicine, and equipment. Many hospitals have to make a decision on how best to allocate their resources.

Many hospitals have decided to use the battlefield practice of triage. This is where patients are examed and a decision is made if giving that person any medical treatment would be effective in the long run.

While the practice of triage may have its place on the battlefield, or any other place, outside the hospital one wonders what is going on inside the hospital.

Since society has moved away from God we suppose it is an easy decision to make (especially if you are just an administrator). For medical staff, who still believe in saving patients it must be much harder to put into practice.

Even so-called “catholic” hospitals are either doing, or thinking, about limiting the life of a patient who is deemed not worth saving. I would hate to be part of the medical staff that makes those decisions and then have to face God when it is their turn for Judgment.

Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us.
