Government of man?

It has been strongly suggested that an old-colonial era law of “emergency ordinance” be passed. This law would give the current Chief Executive unlimited power in running Hong Kong. This would last until the current crisis has ended. But perhaps it might even continue beyond that.

It has been said that a ban on wearing face masks be inplaced before the weekend. This would be the first use of the law since the riots of 1967. The law would prohibit wearing masks during public assemblies. But details are still vague about what a “public assembly” would be. In the theory, it could be a place of business, public transportation, schools or just walking down the street. We will have to wait and see what is actually passed.

But the government has its source of authority not by China but by God. It is, therefore, the duty of the government to obey God rather than China. For only obeying God will the government be blessed. If, as it appears to be doing, obeys China it is the duty of the people to say “We obey God and not China.”
