Recently, Hong Kong’s Chief Executive talked about National Security. He said that it is only at the beginning stages and that it should be part of Hong Kong’s culture.

While we think there is nothing wrong with National Security (NS) we believe it’s time to move on and talk about things that most people are interested in – namely, the economy and happiness. However, NS is always the chief topic, and the economy is hardly ever mentioned. This is sad.

For no matter what NS laws are passed, the economy will always be on the minds of most people. And when the economy is bad, then the people may rise up against the government. This will be a sad day to see.

But it appears the government only cares about NS and nothing else. They present NS laws on a regular basis and do little with the economy. They threaten everyone who even remotely grumbles against the government and we know this to be true. Read this:

 “This, indeed, is all the graver because rulers, in the midst of such threatening dangers, have no remedies sufficient to restore discipline and tranquillity. They supply themselves with the power of laws, and think to coerce, by the severity of their punishment, those who disturb their governments.”- Diuturnum, Pope Leo XIII – 1881

It is sad that any government can think they can add laws and that will force the people to obey. What governments fail to realize is that they must think of their duties to God first, instead of forgetting God and only thinking of themselves.

Duty to God comes first. Without it, all governments will fail both to their people and their own day of judgment.
