New Year, Old Problems
A new year has started and it seems like the same problems the Hong Kong government has with dealing with the people has not changed.
6 January is the Feast of the Epiphany of Our Lord. This is the day the Church remembers about the wise men who came from the East and worshipped Our Lord. This is to show us that Christ was not just about the Jewish people but for all people. I people from the East could come and worship God then all people could (and must). There should be no argument about it.
But in modern times governments have turned to King Herod and have sought to kill the Child Jesus. They see religion as a threat to themselves and must destroy it at all costs. They only think of power and never about their soul.
Hong Kong and China are no exception. In China they try to control religion and supplement it with a false narrative. In Hong Kong, they haven’t gone that far –yet. But any time government feels threatened by a person, or group, they go after them. It doesn’t matter the reasons.
We hope that this year governments will find the Child Jesus and worship Him and not seek to kill Him. For if they seek to kill the Child then they don’t care about their soul but only for the false power and security that it will bring them.
