Policy address morning

Today is the day the Chief Executive of Hong Kong will, hopefully, make her annual policy address. There is much speculation about what is or isn’t in the address. Does it really matter?

We think not. Policy addresses are usually long on ideas and short on specific ways of getting it down. It is just the leader’s ideas and how it gets done, if any, is up to the ruling body of the country.

It also doesn’t matter what is said, or left out, because it will not please all…especially the protesters. We believe that even if Carrie Lam gives in to all the demands of the protesters they will still not be happy and demand more.

It is also hard to say what will happen during and after the speech. We suppose it will depend on what is actually said. There may be protests later or it may be quiet. Only God knows for sure right now. The rest will have to wait.
