Values Education
One of the 12 priority values that the HK government wishes to impose is “filial piety.”
Filial piety simply means to love and honor our parents and country. Even Holy Mother Church recognizes this as a moral virtue. But only to a point.
There is nothing wrong with honoring your family and country. However, it becomes a sin when you see nothing good in other people or countries.
China has abandoned the virtue in order to promote animosity towards other countries like Japan and the US. Videos have appeared, on social media, where Chinese schoolchildren are asked if they hate anyone. They usually answer “yes” and name Japan and the US as countries they hate.
Hong Kong seems to follow this road with their “patriotic” education laws. They seem to promote that China is great and everyone else is less and must be hated. It is a pity.
You wonder how many souls will go to Hell simply because they hate everyone except those they are told to love.
