Taiwan
We spent Lunar New Year in Taiwan. This trip was planned long before the current health crisis and thus was supposed to be relaxing.
We spent some of the time there looking for face masks. Like Hong Kong, they were generally out of them. When you did find them you were only allowed to buy 3 masks per person. You had to spend lots of time going to different stores in hopes you could find something.
The people of Taiwan still maintained a “normal” life and seemed not to panic about the Coronavirus. However, the talk of the country was were to find masks and other health supplies.
In Hong Kong, we saw news reports of people clearing off store shelves full of food and lining up for hours in hopes of buying some masks. We also heard of a robbery of a large supply of masks.
Macau also seems not to panic over this health crisis. Because the less panic there is the more secure the people may feel.
