Christmas 2025
Christmas has come and gone in Hong Kong, and officially, not one person in government wished the people of Hong Kong a Merry Christmas. This, of course, isn’t surprising since every year no one does it. Perhaps they do it privately and away from the eyes and ears of their masters in China.
For China, officially, doesn’t believe in Christmas and will arrest anyone who displays too much ‘westernism’ of this non-Communist holiday. It is easier to ignore this holy day rather than risk the displeasure of those who truly hold the power in China.
We have also seen this year that the various shopping malls have put up displays, and there is nothing wrong with that. But those displays are no longer just a place to go and take photos. Now they are just a place to take photos and buy something. Christmas is now simply about making a profit.
People and malls that ignore Christmas do so at their own risk. When they turn a Holy Day into either something to ignore or how much profit they can get, they risk their own salvation. True, malls can’t believe but those who manage the malls can.
But putting profits over salvation and/or ignoring the true meaning of Christmas not only risks those people’s own salvation but the salvation of others who follow it. The days of Judgment will be severe for those who lead people away from the truth.
A new year is coming, but we don’t hold much hope that things will change next Christmas. And that is a shame.
