Truth?
Recently, Hong Kong’s Secretary of Justice, Teresa Cheng, stated that “What the Department of Justice and sometimes through myself as the Secretary for Justice have said on the general principles are perpetual truths, they are always correct.”
But is there anything that is always true? In the course of human existence the “truth” has changed many times. It depends on many different factors but these include new ideas, change in institutional thinking, convincing others that the old thoughts are wrong and there is a new of looking at it.
As stated above change happens, for humans, for different reasons. So what is “true” today may not be “true” tomorrow. Thus, for the Secretary of Justice to say they have perpetual truths is simply wrong. For who knows what “truths” today will be changed tomorrow.
The only perpetual truths that never change are those of God. Since God never changes then His truths never change. They are indeed perpetual from before the beginning of time and will never end.
But since Hong Kong, and thus China, never puts God first they will never accept the truths of God; only the “truths” of themselves. Thus, they will be judged on those “truths” they have created.
