With the passing of July and the first few days of August, Hong Kong has seen lots of rain. This is good since the average rainfall has been below normal. Now, it is barely above normal. We hope to see it at normal or above for the rest of the year.

But with the heavy rains, citizens, government, and scientists have blamed the heavy rains on climate change. They demand changes in life so that it doesn’t happen again and everyone need to do something so that climate change will not threaten Hong Kong again.

This is, of course, nonsense. It doesn’t matter what people do the weather will always stay the same. Maybe what they should do is pray to God for more normal weather patterns. This will do more than change lifestyles. But, of course, no one will listen to this.

The Bible and tradition are clear that God is in charge of the weather. It is God who has used weather to reward, punish or destroy people. We do not know what the intentions of God are concerning the rains in Hong Kong. All we know is that if people would pray more good things will happen. But again, not many will listen to something simple like this. They all want some drastic solution. Pity.
