September
We admit it has been awhile since we have last posted here. We have some issues that we are dealing with and therefore, not much interest to post here. But, with September full in stride, we feel we must make and effort to be heard for this month.
First, with the summer months not much has been going on in Hong Kong that deals with us and the faith. We have watched and seen what government has done and there was no reason to write upon it. Yes, Hong Kong has done many things which impact its residents but not they have done not much when it comes to the faith.
Now, that September is here we can talk about what has been in the news this month. That is education and we feel sad for the students who have to deal with issues and those teachers and administrators which much bow down to the government in order to teach something.
The first thing is that the government continues to demand that students get a ‘patriotic education’ from schools. This is to say that all subjects must have a patriotic education element in them. This is not wise.
Schools that teach patriotism first will leave real learning behind. This includes religion. Students will never hear about God, or His Church, but they will know all about being a patriot and national security.
Another thing that has been mentioned is that students need to learn more modern Chinese history. While we have nothing against learning more history, we are against them learning Communist Chinese history.
For it was the Communists who destroyed the Church and made its people ignorant about the true faith. Now, 1000s of people die every year there and their souls are lost forever.
In Hong Kong we can see a time where it will be the same way. Religion, is made a subject of government and then many souls will be lost. We keep praying for the conversion of this place.
In other news the Chief Executive will make his annual speech this month. We will be waiting to see what he has to say especially as it affects millions of souls that he needs to be held accountable for when he is called to Judgment.
